Nominees must be tenured faculty who have been full professors for 2 years or less and demonstrate potential for future recognition by distinguished awards and honors. Nomination packages should include: (1) a nominating letter from the corresponding Department Head(s) through the Dean, or from the Dean, that details outstanding contributions by the candidate, any mentors or mentees who will work with the candidate, and the candidate's plan for the award money; (2) a current CV; (3) a commitment letter from the mentor(s); and (4) a statement from the nominee affirming, "At the end of three years I agree to provide a summary of my career trajectory for evaluation of the Presidential Impact Fellows program.”
The nominee cannot have already received a highly prestigious national or international award, such as: the Wolf Prize; Nobel Prize; ACLS Fellowship; Guggenheim Fellowship; NEH Fellowship; or membership in the National Academies of Sciences, Medicine, or Engineering; or other similar recognitions.
