Order of Coif

Established in January 2022 to honor Lolly Gasaway for her many years of exceptional service to Order of the Coif, this annual
award recognizes outstanding scholarship authored collaboratively by a student and a faculty member. This award celebrates the high level of intellectual achievement at member schools by recognizing the published work of students and faculty members in legal scholarship.

The criteria for this award are:
• Submissions must be journal articles authored by at least one student and one faculty member
of a member school.
• Students must be in good standing at the time of publication as defined by the chapter.
• Nominations for the 2023 award must be works published in 2022.
• Works will be evaluated for scholarship of the highest quality including originality of research,
depth of thought and analysis, professional writing, and substantial contribution to legal thought.
• Nominations for the 2023 award must be received by July 31, 2023.

The Lolly Gasaway Student-Faculty Award Committee may consider eligible works, whether those titles were proposed through nominations or because they have come to the Committee’s attention through other routes. The award consists of a cash award and a certificate. The award committee encourages you to nominate eligible works, whether written by members of your faculty or by others, that meet the criteria outlined above. Please submit nominations via the Order of
the Coif website at https://orderofthecoif.org/gasaway-award-nomination no later than July 31, 2023.
