The purpose of this award is to recognize outstanding contributions of law teachers in scholarship, teaching, and service in the torts and compensation systems of law.

Nominations open every January and close every June 30th for the following years' competition (If open 1/1-6/30/2022, award is for 2022). Competition for the Award will be announced through AALS Newsletters, at the annual meeting of the Section, and in the Section newsletter, “Torts and Retorts.”
