Burton Awards for Legal Achievement

The Burton Awards select 10 law students for the “Distinguished Legal Writing” Award. Authors must be enrolled in the 2020 calendar year, and the winning article must have a publication date of 2019 even if printed at a later date. In addition, the publication must have been printed at a law school (law reviews, journals, etc.).

Only one article per school may be nominated and only completed by a dean or legal writing director. While the length and subject matter of the legal articles are not limited, the winners will display a true understanding and mastery of the law and their writing must be clear, cogent and concise. The awards ceremony is on 06/14/2021.
