Pound Civil Justice Institute

Nominated scholars must be full-time law professors at ABA-accredited law schools. If a written work has multiple authors, at least one of the authors must be a full-time professor as stipulated above. 2. A written work nominated for the award must be a single substantial book published by a university or legal press, or a single substantial published article in the law review of an ABA-accredited law school. Chapters of books are ineligible. Articles must have been published within three years prior to the submission deadline. Books must have been published within five years prior to the submission deadline. Each year in which there are sufficient nominations of high quality, the Institute willselect as recipient(s) one article and one book, or two articles.

The institute recognizes two works annually: one book and one article. The Pound Institute recognizes current scholarly legal research and writing focused on topics in civil justice, including access to and the benefits of the U.S. civil justice system, as well as the right to trial by jury in civil cases.
